Department of Virus Structure and Function
Research Topic
We are elucidating the structure and function of viruses and disease-related proteins by structural and biochemical approaches.
Through research, we will contribute to healthcare by clarifying the mechanisms of viral infection and disease pathogenesis, and by developing new treatments.
Main research themes
- Analysis of HIV replication mechanisms using cryo-electron microscopy.
- Analysis of epigenomic mechanisms for the control of HIV infection.
